Celebrated Prog Rock band Goblin. Since the 1970s, Simonetti has specialised in the soundtracks for countless Italian and American horror films.
He is a long-time collaborator of director Dario Argento, and has scored numerous Argento films including Suspiria, Profondo Rosso, Tenebre, Phenomena & Opera. He also recorded the soundtrack for Dawn of the Dead directed by George A Romero.
His music is an iconic mainstay of Italian genre cinema, and has worked with directors such as Umberto Lenzi, Lamberto Bava, Lucio Fulci, Ruggero Deodato, and Sergio Martino. He also composed the theme to Astron-6’s 2014 Giallo comedy horror homage The Editor.
