Sid Haig has many acting credits including featuring in many of Jack Hill’s films such as, “Spider Baby”, “Coffy”, and “Foxy Brown”. He also portrayed one of the Slumber Brothers in James Bond classic “Diamonds are Forever” (1970) where he famously threw a topless Lana Wood from a high-rise Las Vegas hotel!
In 1997 Quentin Tarantino wrote the part of the judge in “Jackie Brown” especially for Sid. Then in 2000, Sid was cast as the iconic Captain Spaulding in Rob Zombie’s debut film “House of 1000 Corpses”, where he starred as the fun-loving but deadly clown. This part brought a whole new round of fans to Sid’s acting career and earned him an award for Best Supporting Actor in the 13th Annual Fangoria Chainsaw Awards, as well as an induction into the Horror Hall of Fame. Sid reprised the role of Captain Spaulding once again in the follow-up “The Devil’s Rejects” (2005) and as a result received the Best Actor award in the 15th Annual Fangoria Chainsaw Awards, in addition he shared the award for “Most Vile Villain” at the First Annual Spike TV Scream Awards along with Leslie Easterbrook, Sheri Moon Zombie and Bill Moseley as The Firefly Family. Captain Spaulding has since become an icon of horror.
He has since been in many features including Night of the Living Dead 3D (2006), Halloween (2007), The Lords of Salem (2012), Hatchet 3 (2013), Holliston TV Series (2013), The Penny Dreadful Picture Show (2013), Bone Tomahawk (2015) and the much anticipated expendables of horror Death House (2017).
