William Katt, is best known for his role as Ralph Hinkley in the 1980s television series The Greatest American Hero. Katt’s acting career began in the early 1970s, and he gained recognition for his performance as Carrie White’s ill fated prom date Tommy Ross in Brian De Palma’s Carrie (1976), based on the Stephen King novel. He also starred in notable films such as Big Wednesday (1978) and the comedy horror film House (1986). Katt’s portrayal of Ralph Hinkley, a high school teacher turned reluctant superhero, solidified his place in pop culture. Beyond his iconic role, Katt as has appeared in various television shows and films, including recurring roles in Heroes (2006-2007) and the Perry Mason TV movies.
